Teenage birth rate per 1,000 females (ages 15-19), 2002-2005

Data notes
Teenage pregnancy is a health concern because pregnant teenagers are less likely to receive timely or adequate prenatal care, which poses health risks to the mother and baby. In 2006 according to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, the national birth rate for 15-19 year olds was 41.9 births per 1,000 population.
